February 10th 2006 producer extraordinaire James Yancey aka J Dilla passed away but his legacy lives on and lives forever.  Instead of the Limelight tribute show we do once to celebrate his life, we will doing a tribute to him all month long.

February 7th we kicked it off with songs that artists have made in Dilla's memory.

February 14th we'll be playing R&B and love songs produced by Dilla

February 21st we'll be playing tracks Dilla produced for fellow Detroit artist

February 28th we'll end it off by playing our favorite Dilla tracks.

February 1st 2009 marked the 6th year since Limelight began at CJLO.  On behalf of myself and J-Nice we want to thank CJLO for having us for and making us the longest running hip hop show at the station. I'd like to thank all the listeners on the internet, new listeners on the air waves, fellow CJLO DJs who supported and encouraged us.  All the guests who've come through and the great staff that keeps the station running.

We are looking forward to more good times with everyone at CJLO and to all the listeners we will continue to strive to bring you quality hip hop and soulful R&B for your listening pleasure.

The Limelight would not be the Limelight if it weren't for producers like Dilla, in fact if it wasn't for tracks produced by him J-Nice and I might not have had as much music to play on the show when we started.  So it's only fitting that we include a tribute to Dilla as during our 5 year anniversary celebration.
