Hello, good day, welcome, all that good stuff. Here's a quick update on where we stand with everything AM-related:
Antenna: It has been ordered and is currently being manufactured. It is basically on autopilot (meaning that it requires no further action on our part) until the delivery date. It will be ready by the time that our ground system is in place so we will not suffer any delays due to the antenna.
Site: Our lease of the site in Lachine has been put temporarily on hold while we investigate the viability of purchasing land instead. We have found two locations, but one is likely too close to residents to be of use to us. The other is more appealingly located, but is larger than we require. Neither have been written off yet, as we are still investigating the finances of purchasing either of these to sites. We have a self-imposed deadline of June 22nd to find a site to purchase. If we have not found a solid lead by then, we will submit our offer to lease to the site in Lachine.
Permits: I've been to both the Burrough Halls of Lachine and Lasalle. Lachine's regulations were clear-cut and the permit process is expected to take a week or two from the date we apply. Lasalle was a bit more fuzzy. There were no obvious rules in the zoning laws that prohibit the construction of a 75-foot antenna, but as it is a fairly unique project, it will have to go to a committee for final approval. Of course, due to summer vacations and whatnot, the committee process could take up to two months (time we don't have.) I am expecting a preliminary answer from the gentleman at the Lasalle permit office by Friday as to what the chance of approval will be and we'll take it from there.
Broadcast Console: Our broadcast console has been ordered and will be arriving this month. The installation should take about a week, during which time we'll be broadcasting from a make-shift booth in our recording studio. It shouldn't be much of an inconvenience, but there might be some minor downtime while we move equipment from room to room. I'll fill you in more as the installation date gets closer.
