The Thaw
Wednesday, April 23, 2008 @ 12:08 EST

It's become quite hard to find snowbanks nowadays, which only means one thing: the thaw has come. Obviously, this is great news for us at CJLO. Due to the unforeseen snowfall at the beginning of December, we've had to hold off all of our construction ventures until the ground becomes soft enough for work to continue in earnest. I've been out to the site personally and can say that we're just about at that point now.

Our plot of land is completely devoid of snow and the ground appears fairly dry (or at least it was this weekend.) There was a patch of mud around the antenna base that tried to absorb my right foot, but that should be dried up soon. I spoke to our AM guy on Monday and Tuesday to get the ball rolling. Unfortunately, he'll be out of town next week, but I've got him making phone calls and doing the prep work so that we'll be all organized for when he's back. We'll be erecting the antenna, laying the ground system, and putting in the transmitter in May. We'll be ably to start testing and tuning as soon as that's done, with our On-Air presence beginning in June.

One thing about this blog; I've disabled commenting as we were getting smashed by spammers. If you would like to discuss what's written here, feel free to do so in the CJLO Forums.
