Making Progress

The meeting this morning went well, so I've been told. The AM guy met with some of the subcontractors and later with our landlord to set things up. Sadly, I wasn't able to nail him down to a date of the start/completion of construction, but there is progress being made.
Next Tuesday, a company will be coming in to install the posts for the fence and transmitter enclosure (which will look like a slightly elevated garden shed.) We've come to an agreement with the landlord and will be able to use an empty garage on the land to store our ground system. There was some concern that we'd have to store the huge, palette sized bundle of wiring offsite, so I'm glad that this was settled.
The AM guy is in contact with Valcom, setting up the delivery date and all that. Much to our chagrin, the guy that we've been dealing with at Valcom is on vacation until May 22nd, so we have to work with his replacement who isn't necessarily up to speed with our needs. It's going well, though. We've been able to secure a larger ground screen (copper mesh) for no extra cost. This will help boost the clarity of the signal once we're up and running.
Our transmitter housing is looking good, too. It's all built and painted, ready for transport. It will be brought in and installed on a weekend morning, once the ground system has been laid. The guy that built it is bringing it in from northern Laval and doesn't want to be on the highway with it in traffic. Getting it on the weekend complicates things a little, but we'll be able to schedule the other installation around it.
I'm going to keep on haranging the AM guy for a solid start date. I'm glad to see progress being made, but it would put all of our minds at ease to at least of a date of when we expect to get it going. It will happen in May, that's for sure. I just want to be able to put a big X on my calendar.
