CJLO Picks Tops - 2008-01-02 13:15:25

As expected, CJLO’s third annual Staff Picks is a mixed bag of musical goodies from across the map. So much so that out of the thirty-one DJs who submitted their lists, no two #1 albums were alike. Of course, several of the year’s powerhouse releases resonated with the staff. Radiohead’s In Rainbows reigned as the most popular album, with The White StripesIcky Thump, The Arcade Fire’s Neon Bible and High On Fire’s Death Is This Communion not too far behind. Other notables were CPC GangbangsMutilation Nation and Deathspell Omega’s Fas -- Ite, Maledicti, In Ignem Aeternum. With regards to 2007’s top shows, CMJ Music Marathon was a station favourite. The festival, which boasts over a thousand band performances at New York City’s hottest venues, provided an unforgettable experience for CJLO-ers fortunate enough to attend.

Exams and Eggnog; two things that don’t mix - 2007-11-28 14:28:18

The holiday season is upon us, which can only mean one thing: Exams. CJLO Radio would like to wish everyone the best of luck on their finals and a happy holiday season. Many of your favorite shows will be away for the next few weeks but don’t worry because just as many are sticking around. CJLO has a few things in the works for the upcoming semester, one of which is adding a daily morning show to the program schedule. If you think you’d make a good candidate, bring in an Application as soon as possible. Last but not least, we are always looking for miscellaneous helpers also known as volunteers. Spots are open in production, news and other odd jobs around the station. CJLO is located at CC-430 on the Loyola Campus, so come introduce yourself.

'Fall, leaves, fall' - 2007-09-24 15:57:44

....Every leaf speaks bliss to me Fluttering from the autumn tree.
Emily Jane Brontë

As fall officially begins, CJLO makes its preparations for the launch to 1690AM. Presently, we’re expanding the schedule to have more live programming before 10am and after midnight. Besides looking for radio show hosts we’re also looking for capable sound engineers and voice talent to read the news three times a week. If you are interested in helping with any of these departments feel free to fill out an Application and bring it by CC-430.

CJLO Keeps On Kickin' Into The Summer Months - 2007-04-17 11:11:38

The end of another year of school is upon us, and it may not seem like summer is ever going to come, but we here at CJLO are working hard to keep you and your loved ones warm while you huddle up around your computers and sit out the crazy "spring" weather.

The March to AM soldiers on and progress is slow but steady. Keep up to date by checking out our fabulous blog. In the mean time keep checking the CJLO web site for upcoming events and special episodes of your favourite CJLO shows.

Also don't miss CJLO's now-famous year end Gala, coming very, very soon! We will be handing out some Diegos (the CJLO equivalent of the Oscar or Golden Globe) to the DJs and shows that have impressed us the most this year, drinks will be had, Karaoke will be sung and the wardrobe will be black tie, as always. See the events section below for the who, where, and when.

The Concordia campus may be quiet as classes have ended and exams are coming to a close but CJLO will be keeping the party going all summer long!
