Back again and it felt like a pretty good and informative show. As always didn't get to it all, which is kind of good. I get nervous as the number of stories starts to lessen towards the show's end and am not big on repeating stories. If you missed the story or most of the show 'cause you're in and out of the car well, the stories are blogged here at CJLO and here and here and there's some funny stuff here!
Okay, beginning with a story I did mention twice today, Peter Milliken, Speaker of ther House, rules Stephen Harper is PM, not king and must comply with Parliment's request for documents relating to Afghan detainee issue. Harper proves himself an idealogue and an ass on the issue of maternal health for women in developing countries. Refusing to allow funding for organizations that support or fund abortion for women who are the victims of war, rape and poverty.
For those of you coming to get the link to the Noam Chomsky interview I've provided the link to the blog (scroll down, it's there and it works!) as the link to the post itself seems to not work.
The Gulf of Mexico is currently awash in oil that's being spilled at a rate of 42,000 gallons per day while Big Oil is busy reaping massive profits from their 1st quarter of price gouging. Beginnning with BP, the owners of the recently exploded and sunken oil-rig who surpassed expectations by 50% to top off at 5.6 Billion!
The Goldman Sachs people and their delaying tactics have me angry as hell! Bill Clinton is not as sure that their practices are illegal but believes they lack merit. Frankly I can't see how selling toxic assets is not criminal.
As for bailing out the automakers and the idea that that was good money after bad, Ford proves them wrong.
Talk tomorrow!
