On Sunday February 1st 2003 at 6pm two Hip Hop lovers joined forces on live internet broadcast to play songs that you don't hear on mainstream radio or on popular music channels. The show didn't even have a name (we were actually given some wack name and it was put under the world music genre). We temporarily went with "The Lounge" and finally J-Nice named it "The Limelight". I went from being The Black Oracle to Lady Oracle (thanks to Musiq Soulchild) & we moved from Sunday at 6pm to Saturday at 4pm following some great shows like Ear Exam with Darcy MacDonald, The Dirty Rap Hour with Chris Coates, Beat The World with Sugarface Nene.
Now we air live on AM radio Saturdays at 6pm following More Fyah radio with Junior Vibes, Singing P and Star Q. Soon we'll be on the FM band thanks to winning a fee levy in 2011.
After nine years we've seen a lot of changes but our love for underground Hip Hop remains the same and we'll be celebrating every Saturday for the month of February with a special guest every week.
Here's what we have lined up so far
February 4th - J Dilla Tribute
February 11th - Special guest (more details to come)
February 18th - DJ Sugarface Nene and Doomtree interview
February 25th - Old School Hip Hop battle.
Be sure to tune in every week this month
Thank you to our friends, family, fellow CJLOers, and listeners who have supported us over the last 9 years, we love you!
Peace
Lady Oracle
