Kahnawake residents protested the Dakota Pipeline this Tuesday.

According to CTV News, they were acting in solidarity with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North Dakota.

Citizens have been protesting the development of the Dakota Pipeline since April.

Edmonton member of parliament Randy Boissonnault has become the prime minister’s special adviser on LGBTQ issues.

According to CBC News, Boissonnault is trying to improve the rights of sexual and gender minorities and is currently in the process of writing an apology for the years of discrimination they faced from the government.

Boissonnault stated that between the 1950s and 1990s, more than 9000 federal public servants lost their jobs due to discrimination.

The United Nations reported that 75 000 children are at risk of dying of hunger in Nigeria.

According to BBC News, 14 million people are in desperate need of humanitarian assistance after Boko Haram militants left the region.

Tens of thousands of civilians have been killed and nearly 2 million people have been displaced since Boko Haram began their operations in Nigeria in 2009.
