SO!

To all the boys, girls, freaks and kinksters out there.... This one's for you!

But, first things first....

There are those of you, fans or occasional listeners of Burnt Offerings, who might remember a guest speaker who's been on my show a couple of times in the past, Velma Candyass. Her sexy, dominating and captivating voice delighted our ears and senses with stories of zombies, oral sex workshops and vivid descriptions on proper use of sex toys (which made for several interesting moments of on-air).

But most importantly! She's known for her work as part of the zombie burlesque troupe, the Dead Doll Dancers, and the wonderful shows they put on at Cafe Cleopatra and this coming Friday is no exception!

This Friday, Club Sin presents a uniform-themed...

Today on Burnt Offerings: Your host, Cecil will be discussing Iced Earth's newest frontman, Stu Block, formerly of Canadian band Into Eternity. Iced Earth, the favourite of yours truly and the origin of the show's name has made a big decision in allowing this young man to take the stage. What will come of it? Let's see today on Burnt Offerings, CJLO 1690AM!

Thursday, March 10th, 2011: The weather was terrible; it was raining and the snow was somewhere in limbo between cold slush and ice. My boots and feet were soaked through. The commute was terrible. It was a Thursday evening but all of Montreal seemed to have somewhere to go that night. The scalpers were everywhere; they were waiting for me at St. Laurent metro and could be found every other step from the metro to Metropolis. On the bill were Montreal's own Catalyst and Apocalyptica so the show, however, was worth it!

When I got in, the first thing I noticed was that the setup was beautiful. The lights were colourful and the opening band's gear was set up hours in advance and ready. Unfortunately, the drink service was awful and showed no improvement since the...

There aren’t enough people who know the name Devin Townsend, but most of those that do would probably make the connection to Strapping Young Lad while the rest would think of his solo project. Tuesday, November 2nd of this year, I went to see Devin Townsend live on stage in Montreal at Petit Campus. There were three other bands that night, but I don’t want to say anything about them. To be fair, I only wanted to seeDevin and while I was early enough to catch the opening acts I spent the time mingling with friends in the crowd and taking names of people I thought I’d like to keep in touch with. I was...

Greetings to all your creatures out there in the bowels of the abyss!

Halloween is fast approaching and do we at CJLO have something special for you. Burnt Offerings will be teaming up with the might of The Almighty Riff this Sunday to bring you a solid FOUR HOURS of metal to please the Gods, the demons of Hell and you, the audience!

So if you're a fan of either show, or both, then haul ass and get yourselves tuned in this Sunday, from 4-8PM with your hosts Cecil the Dark Knight and the Zombie Boy who promise to make your Halloween evening a great one.

Don't worry, it's Sunday night and nobody goes out before 9 anyways no matter what the night! So set your dials, set your alarms and get comfortable and knock back a few while listening to some heavy music and evil...

For those of you who tuned in today (24/10/2010) to Burnt Offerings you would have heard me mention that a special Halloween show is in the works. Now, I don't want to get into too much detail just yet, but The Almighty Riff's own Zombie boy will be working with yours truly to bring together an excellent show for you all!

When the time comes, hopefully before the week is finished, I will post another update with more detail of what you all can expect and I will be sure to attract all of you towards it!

Stay tuned!

Greetings to all the denizens of metal!

I'm Cecil, your host of Burnt Offerings and I'm happy to tell you all that today I'll be interviewing member(s) of the band Scythia today on at around 4:45 PM! I'll be there to talk about their latest album, their Exiled Across Canada tour and all sorts of other exciting things!

If you're a fan of folk metal, or just curious about it, then tune in and listen to these guys!

If not, you should tune in anyways!

I best be seeing you there.

Cecil

So I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but for all those of you who were super excited to see Kamelot playing at Club Soda that night, the 18th of this month, I'm sorry to say that they pulled out due to illness. If you've been paying attention to me on the air during Burnt Offerings, I've already said this, but this if for those of you who may be out of the loop or missed the show that day. Yes, Kamelot will not be in town for that show, but if you are still interested you could see Leaves Eyes with Blackguard at the same place, same time, for only 15$! Which is a bargain for a possibly really good show.

OTHER than that, there is Evil Shred 2 at L'Inco, address 4584 Papineau, Montreal. This is near Mont Royal metro station for those of you who are unfamiliar. So, for only 5$,...

To all the denizens of metal:

I, Cecil, wish to inform you all that I will not be in attendance this weekend or the next because I will be doing my duties as a keeper of the lores of metal and I will be at a couple of concerts over these weekends.

In my quest to find metal that is true, I will detail my experiences and adventures and come up with a blog for the all of you to read and delight in when the time passes.

As for now, this is all I will say of the matters and when the time comes I will update you on the happenings of my journey.

For now, keep listening in to The Almighty Riff (http://www.cjlo.com/onair/almighty-riff) for your dose of metal!

May the Gods be with you.

-Cecil

Hello everybody, it's me Cecil, your host of Burnt Offerings, every Sunday as part of Metal Sundays and I’ve got a little something for you. Now, I don’t claim to be an avid concert-goer, but I’ve been to my fair share and I’m not unfamiliar with the scene so when I had the opportunity to see Powerglove, Mutiny Within and Sonata Arctica live I was pretty thrilled about it. Mutiny Within was new to me, but I was given the opportunity to meet with them and interview them, which I will get to soon enough. Powerglove, I can say, I’ve been a fan of them ever since I discovered their gimmick (for those of you who might not know, they are a band dedicated to playing metal versions of videogame theme songs). Then there was Sonata...

Hey guys!

Cecil here and I just wanted to remind you all to come out to concerts happening this week! If you've been listening, you be aware of this already.

I will be at Cafe Chaos tonight to see THE CATALYST, AGGRESSOR & ALCOHOLATOR for only 6$! You should make it if you're itching for a show and are short on cash.

Tomorrow, the 22nd, I'll be at Metropolis to see AMON AMARTH, ELUVEITIE & HOLY GRAIL so if you're wanting to see some real face-smashing metal, then come out to that. I'll probably be busy windmilling at that one!

Tuesday, the 27th, at Club Soda CANNIBAL CORPSE is playing with 1349, SKELETONWITCH & LECHEROUS NOCTURNE. Uhm.... METAAAAL!!

Do it.

Alright guys, I just want to start off by saying that this entire page has been one big work in progress for me to make it look great for all of you, but I'm taking the time to officially announce The Catalyst appearing on Burnt Offerings, the 28th of February, 2010 from 4-6 PM. They will be on the show to talk about themselves, their music, their history and their upcoming show on March 4th. There will be more information about this to come, or maybe not, so you'll just have to listen in and find out for yourselves! I've listened to these guys before, I've spoken with frontman Matt Bailie and I'm close with their new drummer, Teo Zamfir. I'm very excited to have them on my show and I believe this will be good for all of us involved, as well as great for YOU, the listeners, and fans,...
