As the Darkness ripens to Marvelosity over the course of the show and Jessica completes her lowly tasks as assistant to me, Cordelia, I have accumulated time here in the DJ booth to create Bloggery and Linkage to most Groovy and Interesting sites outside of the alread-fantastic CJLO page.
On the show today, a song by the name of "Evelyn Evelyn" by the group Evekyn Evelyn was played and I mentioned a stirringly beauteous video created in tandem with the song. I will now provide you with access to this video. One is obliged to love the intricacy and meticulous detail of stop-motion animation. Behold!
Here too, as promised, are Jesca Hoop's videos for...
As 2010 draws to a close, I find myself completely indifferent and nonplussed. It is, after all, but another 'year', a cycle of 365 days that could start and ened at any given day. Someone somewhere once decided that January should be the honourable month to receive this honorable honour. Why not August? or November? And why must things begin with a '1'? Why not start the new year on April 13th? It's all every so arbitrary.
However, any excuse to celebrate is fine with me. Whether with friends, or alone in one's room with a bottle of moonshine for company. Hopefully the former.
BUY RAFFLE TICKETS! BUY THEM FROM ME! CORDELIA AND CO. WILL BE TABLING IN THE MEZZ (2ND FLOOR OF HALL BUILDING) ON JANUARY 4TH AND 6TH FROM 12-6. You can buy tickets there, or you can...
Greetings Marvelous Minions,
On today's show I featured some entirely new and hitherto unheard artists, as well as some upwards coming forth-- er... what is that idiom you folk use? Up-and-coming, yes. Some up-and-coming artists of the Canadian persuasion, or just generally coming-up. I promised links, and links I shall provide:
Sepiachord - a most excellent resource for discovering new music of the dark and marvelous sort:

Greetings, My Marvelous Minions.
Cordelia has returned for another season of gloriously gloomy and delightfully dark digital ditties, that is to say, macabre melodies and phantasmagorical fanfare. That's right. The Marvelous Darkness has fallen. Come into the night.
Hop on your velocipede and hasten to a time that never was, where nothing is altogether canny and everything is shrouded in delicious dark.
FRIDAYS AT ONE IN THE AFTERNOON betwixt the Chesterfield Hour and the Reaktor.
Wind your watches.

Well, my Marvelous Minions. The end of my radio season has drawn to a close once again, although I am still listed in the schedule. Weird Era, I believe, will be babysitting my time slot over the summer months until my show and I return in early September.
I will, periodically, be blogging and maybe even serving up some new steaming hot steampunk songs. I may even do a phone-in for one of my radio compadres' shows. If they'll allow that. I do indeed hope so, as I will greatly and thoroughly miss the Marvelous Darkness during the blinding sunny days of summer whilst I am embarking on employment adventures on both ends of the country and both ends of the career spectrum.
But, beautiful...
I have discovered a gem of a musician, or rather we just sort of crossed paths at a concert on Saturday...
Regardless, with my Marvelously Dark blessing, I encourage you to investigate Darling Ghost
With the plaintive voice of a melancholy siren, Sheena Bernett of Darling Ghost leads a quirky and dramatic piano-driven group of wayward musicians along the road of Marvelous Music.
She is currently looking to collaborate with local musicians in an ongong musical project, Darling Ghost.
If you or someone you know plays an orchestral instrument (specifically cello, double bass or percussion) please contact her to experience a musical manifesto unlike any other....
Hello Marvelously Darkened Folk,

I am going to come in and do my show tomorrow after all. Plans change, winds and sands shift. Camels fancy new types of hay. Things do not remain the same. Sameness is the essence of boringness. That is why I am spontaneously going home to visit the fam this weekend, even though I'm moving out fairly soon afterwards.
So in high spirits I write this, anticipating a grand and majestic spectacle tomorrow afternoon. People will be filming stuff during my show. This is for our CJLO GALAAAAAAAA which is on the 17th. It's gonna rock. Rhock. Yeaw. All of those things. Ok, I shall try to tone it down. Marvelous and Dark. Hm.
Tune in tomorrow for your Daily Dose of DD plus all sorts of other wonderful vitamins and mineral supplements to keep your musical brain healthy and strong....
This is where it comes from.
This is the well from whence the Marvelously Dark music is drawn. Some of it. An excellent source for discovery. The collective compendium of cacophonous cabaret maCabre. Caw caw caw.

I am in the process of acquiring NEW marvelously dark materials for the show. When next your gradfather clocks strike One, expect an onslaught of never-before-heard-by-mortals-of-this-age music.
Hopefully.
I plan to be in attendance of The Burning Hell's concert tonight at Casa del Popolo. Good times are guaranteed for all. Opening act Ragged Dick is a certified by me brilliant musician, and it is with great honesty and care for your own well-being that I recommend you attend.
