About this contributor

What's up everyone! I am the Lady Oracle, one half on The Limelight on CJLO. My partner J-Nice and I have been doing this for over 8 years. It's the longest running hip hop show on CJLO and we always bring you quality hip hop mixed in with R&B, soul & funk. But that's not all there is to me! I'm also a big house music lover (more on the soulful, classic side). I DJ and I'm interested in producing. I love being a part of CJLO, some of my closest friends I met at the station! So tune into CJLO and tune into my show Saturdays 6pm to 8pm. Also tune into the rest of our shows on CJLO. The Saturday lineup in amazing and of course I gotta promote the rest of our hip hop shows during the week. Peace Amrew aka Lady Oracle

On Sunday February 1st 2003 at 6pm two Hip Hop lovers joined forces on live internet broadcast to play songs that you don't hear on mainstream radio or on popular music channels. The show didn't even have a name (we were actually given some wack name and it was put under the world music genre). We temporarily went with "The Lounge" and finally J-Nice named it "The Limelight". I went from being The Black Oracle to Lady Oracle (thanks to Musiq Soulchild) & we moved from Sunday at 6pm to Saturday at 4pm following some great shows like Ear Exam with Darcy MacDonald, The Dirty Rap Hour with Chris Coates, Beat The World with Sugarface Nene.

Now we air live on AM radio Saturdays at 6pm following More Fyah radio with Junior Vibes, Singing P and Star Q. Soon we'll be on the FM band...

Be sure to tune into The Limelight this Saturday January 7th for the best of 2011.  We'll be playing the songs that sonically pleased J-Nice and myself. As a treat we've posted one of our favorite tracks for you all.  It's Masta Ace and  Doom with the track PBS, rhyming about the darker side of Sesame Street, track is hilarious and if you can't imagine Elmo as a gangster I posted a pic for a visual. Enjoy and see you in The Limelight

Prince

This Friday Prince graced us with his enigmatic presence & amazing music at the Bell Centre. I was lucky enough to get tickets to see the show for my birthday and I couldn't have asked for a better present.

The stage was the shape of the infamous male, female, alchemic soapstone symbol that lit up along the edges. The show started with the New Power Generation coming out and jamming for a bit then the backup singers. Finally Prince himself came out dressed in a long sleeve graphic tee, tight pants and white boots with fur all sparkling and gleaming.

For the next three hours Prince performed his hits, funk tracks, and a...

Montreal artist Conn Shawnery by way of BC put out his long   anticipated album CS01 and it was definitely worth the wait.  As a    vinyl collector you hear all the musical influences and great samples in  his musical production.  It’s not just that he created a beat , Conn Shawnery orchestrated a sound. Add artists like BluRum 13, N...
