Université de MontréalAccording to the CTV, the University of Montreal will be beginning new construction.

Finance minister Raymond Bachand announced Monday that the federal government would fund the $350 million project. The new campus would be located in the abandoned CP rail yard in Outremont.

New Concordia building

According to an e-mail sent out to all Concordia students the University will be closed on Thursday March 22nd.

The decision comes due to the choice to use Concordia’s downtown campus as a meeting place for province wide tuition strikes on Thursday. It is expected that over 15000 students will be at Concordia on Thursday before marching towards Place Du Canada.

RBCAccording to CTV Montreal, RBC has settled a multi-million dollar class action lawsuit out of court.

The bank settled to the tune of $17 million with the victims of Earl Jones. Jones was a deceitful financial advisor who conned millions of dollars out of his clients. He ran a classic Ponzi scheme for years before being discovered and arrested three years ago.

According to CBC, a phone number used to give false information during last year’s election has been determined. The name registered is Pierre Poutine.

Apparently people in Guelph received calls from this number during last May. They were then told that their polling location had changed and given the location of a “new” one. The location had not changed however.
