CJLO is still on the hunt for a Fundraising Coordinator!

Position: Fundraising Coordinator
Location: Montreal, Quebec


Description:


CJLO is a Campus/Community radio station based out of Concordia University's Loyola campus in NDG. CJLO belongs to the not-for-profit Concordia Student Broadcasting Corporation (CSBC), and represents Concordia University and its community. CJLO has been broadcasting on the Internet for several years and in 2008 began broadcasting on 1690 AM throughout the Montreal area with 1000 watts of power. Currently running with a staff of over 80 volunteers and broadcasting a wide variety of musical and talk content, CJLO and is an organization looking to take the next step in representing its community as a viable Montreal broadcaster, and is looking for talented volunteers to help make this happen!

Responsibilities:

  • Be a spokesperson for CJLO and ensure the growth and representation of the CJLO brand;
  • Develop and maintain relationships within the Concordia University and Montreal communities, including on and off campus organizations, administrative bodies, the Dean of Students office and the Concordia Alumni Association;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external funding partners;
  • Planning, coordination and execution of all fundraising events, including but not limited to a spring funding drive;
  • Build and direct the fundraising team;
  • Seek out businesses to donate prizes and other items for fundraising activities;
  • Oversee the work of all fundraising staff and projects, as well as organize meetings as required;
  • Develop and organize ideas to encourage the financial support of CJLO;
  • Attend CJLO Executive meetings & events.

Requirements:

  • Impeccable interpersonal, organizational and communication skills;
  • Bilingual English and French spoken and written;
  • Excellent team building and team leadership skills and the ability to work in a communal volunteer environment;
  • Regular access to the internet;
  • Ability to think outside the box and develop new ideas;
  • Must be able to volunteer a minimum of 8 hours per week with ability to do more during funding drive;
  • Familiarity with radio funding drives and similar projects.

Assets:

  • Promotional and/or fund raising experience & experience in event planning;


Remuneration:
Volunteer position with a $500 stipend per semester assuming excellent performance. Potential for further honorarium if fundraising goal is surpassed.
