HOOKED on SONiCS is back, better than ever, new and improved,
and tastier than a tasty treat. Yeah,
you thought it was rain.
Whaaaaaaat? Well, Let’s just say
that the New Coke has nothing on the New HOOKED on SONiCS.
Now
making the jump from the minors (read: the weekend) to the big leagues (read:
during the week) for the new Fall Semester, the SONiCs show is hitting the
airwaves Tuesdays
from 6-8pm ET now.
That’s right kiddies, 2 full hours of all the best in indie rock out
there. Primetime, baby…time to bring
the A-game…or…pfft, whatever.
Your humble hosts Dr. Lou “L-traiN” Sweets and Mista
O “Crash” Goodness
(um…yeah, not their real names) bring you all the indie and punk rock tuneage
yer lil’ heart desires, with the usual music geek banter and other annoyances.
Essentially,
what we try to do here on the SONiCs show is bring to you a well rounded
sampling of all things related to indie rock/punk rock and underground music in
general. Our main rule is: We don’t
discriminate. If it sounds good to us,
regardless what label it’s on or what genre it falls under, we’re gonna play
it. Hopefully, you’re gonna like
it.

“The
Track from Way Back” –
The indie rock classic. Oh yeah,
sometimes we’ll be digging as far back as the early…nineties? Whoa there.
“‘SONiCs
Selection” – The
song/band/album that’s been infecting our day to day activities. We’re here to spread the disease…yeah, that
doesn’t sound too friendly.
“Cover
Song of the Week” –
Uhh.,.pretty self-explanatory.
“Connect
the Dots” – Follow
along as we connect random bands to one another…weeeeeee!
“Album
Feature” – As
generic as it sounds…
“Anatomy
of a Band” – The
generic profile of an “artiste” or CD.
“Back
from the Dead” –
Sometimes bands disappear or break up, sometimes they come back. Do the math.
“Guilty
Pleasure” – If we
feel confident enough to share…tee hee, we’ll let you in on what (scary) stuff
is surprisingly making us giddy…I can hear the indie cred being flushed down
the toilet already.
“CJLO
Top-5” – The indie
rock/punk/alt rock top 5 CDs for the week at tha ‘JLO. Yeah, we’re gonna play them.
