Black History Month

February Celebrates Black History!  Although it's a celebration of black history every month on Beat The World, this month had a special focus on SELF. Self love. Self empowerment.  Taking care of yourself/myself/oneself.  It actually came to be unintentionally.  Maybe because February is a time of deep reflection. Maybe because we look at out past. And when i mean our past, I mean the world's past.  We are people of the world. We must celebrate ourselves. Be proud of who you are.  More importantly respect for oneself.  I didnt realize this month would mean so many things to me compared to previous Februarys or previous months in general.  Maybe because its my 30th year or maybe because its Daphne's birthday on the 29th (we gonna celebrate well well 2012 leap year coming!) but i feel empowered.  I'm ready to conquer the world and im taking you with me!

Don't forget to check out Montreal's 20 year Black History Calendar! It pays a special tribute to Haiti and to such amazing men and women featured in the calender. I must say, the women truly represented this year.  And with March being the woman's month, this travel to self emprovement is getting better and better!
