CJLO, Zurich Tourism, Swiss International Airlines and the IRF Are Sending Jessica Rotondo to Zurich, Switzerland!

CJLO is thrilled to announce the winner of the Great Zurich Challenge! Jessica Rotondo, and a guest will be travelling to Zurich courtesy of Swiss International Airlines and Zurich Tourism!

After three rounds, we narrowed it down to Jessica, Joyce and John who went head to head in studio on Charts and Crafts on October 19th. After a great effort, John came in third place and Joyce came in second, winning herself $200 to spend at the Alpenhaus Restaurant! In the end it was Jessica that came out on top and won herself an amazing trip to Zurich!

CJLO, Zurich Tourism, and Swiss International Airlines want to send YOU to Switzerland!! In celebration of CJLO's recent excursion to the International Radio Festival in Zurich, Switzerland, CJLO will be running the most epic contest it has ever had the chance to run, thanks to our fine partners above! Want to win? Here's how:

Starting on Monday, October 4th, CJLO will be posting up to three Swiss Facts of the Day on our Facebook page. You can become a fan of CJLO here. Not of the Facebook persuasion? Not to worry. Our Facebook feed also appears on our Twitter which also appears on our home page so there's no excuse not to play along. Keep track of the Swiss Facts of The Day all week to play The Great Zurich Challenge!

What's that you ask? Well it's simple. On Tuesday, October 12th between 6pm and 8pm listen in to Charts and Crafts for the cue to call in. We'll take two listeners and put them head to head against each other to test their knowledge of Zurich. The questions will come right from the Swiss Facts of the Day so there's lots of opportunity to study hard. We'll be doing the same thing on Thursday, October 14th on Hooked on Sonics from 6pm to 8pm and again on Friday, October 15th from 4pm to pm on Phantastiq Cypha. Then, we'll take the winners of those three rounds and invite them into the studio on Tuesday, October 19th on Charts and Crafts from 6 to 8 pm to go head to head in person to win the grand prize! 

Winner will get a trip for two to Zurich, Switzerland flying economy class on Swiss International Air lines and three nights accommodation courtesy of Zurich Tourism including a Zurich city tour or Zurich city card. CONTEST RULES & REGULATIONS

The trip is valid for one year but cannot be redeemed during the Street Parade. Flight and accommodation will be arranged with the winner by Swiss International Airlines and Zurich Tourism directly. The prizes are non-transferrable, cannot be substituted, cannot be assigned and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other such trade. Flights shall be return from Montreal to Zurich and cannot be transferred to another city or airport. Winner and guest must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid passport to be eligible. 

CJLO members former and present, direct family members and affiliate companies are not eligible to win. Members of the Concordia Student Broadcasting Corporation and its board members and their direct family members are also not eligible. CJLO is solely responsible for the administration of the contest and for providing the winner details to Swiss International Airlines and Zurich Tourism. All details shall then be coordinated by these companies directly with the winner. CJLO is in no way responsible for any issues that may occur following the transfer of winner name and contact information to the companies involved. 

Winner will be required to execute a legal agreement and release that confirms the eligibility of the winner and his or her compliance with the contest rules, acceptance of the prize as offered, release of the Prize Suppliers and their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, directors, officers, suppliers, agents, sponsors and administrators from any and all liability for any loss, harm, damages, cost or expense arising out of participation in this contest, participation in any contest related activity or the acceptance, use or misuse of any prize including without limitation, costs, injuries, losses related to personal injuries, death, damage to, loss or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light, or from any and all claims of third parties arising there from. The legal agreement and release shall also state that the winner grants to the Prize Suppliers the unrestricted right to produce, reproduce, publish, broadcast, communicate, exhibit, distribute, adapt and otherwise reuse the winner's name, photograph, likeness, voice and biography, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, in connection with the contest and the promotion and exploration thereof.

The winner will arrange for the signature and return of said release by him or herself as well as the travel companion within four business days of winning notification. Winner will provide valid government issued identification upon claiming the prize and signing the release. Failure to abide by any of the above shall result in disqualification and the prize shall be awarded to the runner up of the contest. The winner shall provide CJLO with the full legal names of all parties traveling within two business days of winning notification. 

The sponsors reserve the right to substitute the prize for equal or greater value if for whatever reason the prize becomes unavailable. The winner is responsible for all incidental expenses incurred in connection with accepting the prize. The winner understands that he or she may not seek reimbursement for the expenses from CJLO, its affiliates or the respective sponsor. CJLO does not make any representation or offers any warranty, express or implied, as to the quality or fitness of the prize. The winner understands and acknowledges that he or she may not seek reimbursement or pursue any legal or equitable remedy from CJLO should the prize fail to be fit for its purpose or is in any way unsatisfactory to the winner. 

In entering the contest, contestants agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the contest which are subject to change at the discretion of CJLO. The contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all federal and provincial, territorial and municipal laws and regulations of Quebec and Canada respectively. 

The contest period commences at 6:00 AM EST on Monday, October 4th, 2010 and concludes at 8:00 PM EST on Tuesday, October 19th, 2010.

For the purpose of these rules, direct family members include spouses, children, parents, siblings or persons with whom you are domiciled. Only the contest winner can claim and use the prize, No family member or friend may substitute, whether or not they reside together.

Any litigation respect the conduct and awarding of a prize in this publicity contest may be submitted to “La Regie des alcools, des courses et des jeux” for a ruling.  Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to La Regie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
