Best live band of January, along with best album release:}
BRAIDS!
Saw 'em live @ Sala Rossa, best concert ever, especially for their genre. The vocal melodies soared and intertwined with the drums that provided a melody all on their own, with the guitar providing an ample soundscape.
Make sure to listen to their album "Native Speaker", released this Jan. Oh yeah, listen to it on vinyl. For what they are producing, you might as well do their music justice by turning on the ol' record player.
Upcoming show of the month: East End Radicals
Feb 26th @ Club Lambi (where CJLO hosted their winter raffle party!)
one of Montreal's best punk bands by far, and had their album release this january at L'Absynthe. On the 26th they will be showcasing their music again after getting rave reviews from the likes of ThePunkSite.com, along with lots of inner city hype. Interview coming soon!
