Tune in to Eclectricity this Saturday for the first appearance of Da Beatseeker here at CJLO.  Montreal Mirror columnist Morgan Steiker will be joining DJ Solespin and will be sure to share hot tunes with all who listen from 6-8pm.  Judging by the photo, expect the unexpected as two of Montreal's record hounds blaze the airwaves with an incredible mix of music!

The last time he joined me, he gave me one of my favorite shows.  Tune in for an eclectic mix of hip hop, rare groove, soul and funk by one of my favorite guests!

This is another long-awaited show about to come to fruition.  My peeps Matt & Jules will be making their first appearance on ECLECTRICITY.  Like many of my guests, they know their !@#t and how to mix it too! Limelight will not be broadcast this coming Saturday and DJ Solespin was asked to fill in before hosting his own show Eclectricity.

I'm doing another long overdue show.  I'm paying tribute to a music lover's dream come true magazine, Waxpoetics.  The focus will be on non-hip hop artists for this show, but the next one will be all hip hop.  Rest assured that there will be a next one!

This edition of the show basically reveals the direction ECLECTRICITY will be going in from here on end.  The focus will be on new music as well as dipping into some oldies to give you a well-balanced meal.  I just saw Divine Brown & Sean Jones so expect to hear from them as well as Musiq, Madlib and Mark Ronson.

I've waited for Mulekick's return since they left my show last year. That show was a crowd favorite and I'm sure they will top themselves this week.  All 4 members will be there this time which will allow me to post a real photo of Mulekick for their 3rd appearance! Do not miss this one!

This Saturday, another DCV colleague will join me and like the others, it should be off the hook.  All the DCV shows so far have been incredible experiences for me.  Each DCV brings their individual style and musical stamp on the show. Bobilicious should do no different. Brace yourselves!

The title and author give a hint as to what's going on with Eclectricity. For the longest time, I've used A-Dubs for my show personality name.  It did the job, but over time I was thinking I would change it because it didn't fit me right anymore.  This year alone, I've been in the lab thinking of the master DJ name and after some brainstorming I decided to go with DJ Solespin, a name that suits me in more ways than one. 

The play on words is obvious.  Soul & sole sound alike, but have different meanings. I grew up listening to soul music and since hosting a radio show, I have mentioned a one-spin-of-a-track policy.  I'll play the hell out of an artist's work, but never the same song.  Anyone that knows me knows I love to spin and for a long time.  I figure this new name should stick for a while.

Get used to it because I sure have to!

It was months in the making, but the time has finally arrived! In celebration of Spring and Aries, it's going to be old school all month long in March. A lot of new music has been spun this year and now it's time to go to the heart of the matter. The focus will be on very early 90s hip hop for the first few shows of the month.

To kick things off, A-Dubs is paying tribute to the L.A. record label on the March 2 show. Delicious Vinyl has been in the hip hop game for an incredible 20 years! It is one of California's first independent hip hop record labels. Before there was a Stones Throw, there was Delicious Vinyl giving the world ground breaking hip hop music like Tone Loc's "Wild Thing" as early as 1989.

I pledge to bring the hottest music every Sunday during the course of my mandate. I will continue to challenge you musically by bringing you a great mix of vintage classics and the latest tunes. Eclectricity will have a more modern and updated feel and sound in 2008. I'll be exploring more of the current music scene and many different genres. If you don't dance, smile, raise the volume, or scratch your head during the show, you should schedule an appointment with the closest clinic :) The heatwaves from the show should help usher in Spring and Summer faster than usual.
