It's been 5 years since J-Nice and Lady Oracle have been hosting CJLO's The Limelight. What brought us to CJLO five years ago was simply being tired of hearing mainstream Hip Hop & poppy R&B on the airwaves, we knew that there were peeps out there who wanted to hear artists like The Roots, Jill Scott, De La Soul and any artist who was putting out something real.

This Saturday The Limelight is going to packed with guests. We got DJ  Heir 2 D Throne and DJ Paypercut spinning.  Montreal MC Preach will be coming through to hang with us.  As well we'll be talking to Puffy Coates (former host of The Melting Pot) in T.O.

Dilla Tribute this Saturday

The Limelight would not be the Limelight if it weren't for producers like Dilla, in fact if it wasn't for tracks produced by him J-Nice and I might not have had as much music to play on the show when we started.  So it's only fitting that we include a tribute to Dilla as during our 5 year anniversary celebration.

Fame making moves in Mtl

Look out world, MTL is blowing cats out the block, we coming up. Lady Oracle and I had a chance to sit down and talk to Fame Beatts aka S. Miller about his new found passion for music production & making beats. Well maybe not a new found passion he's been at it for a while now, getting better and more creative with every high hat or drum loop mixed. This upcoming producer has already done collaborations with the likes of Shogun another representative in the HipHop scene putting MTL on the map. Fames' love for music and tenacious appetite to bring the creativity back to hiphop, is what drives him to continue producing more music. Like every good up and coming artist Fame has to give props to producers and artist that came before him, like J-Dilla (RIP), Masta-Ace, Nas, DJ Premier, and a slew of others. They act as guides to fuel his passion. Look out for Fame Beatts we see big things coming from this cat, it was a pleasure to have him on the show to share some of his passion with us. Love life, love music! One!
