I (Simon) will play you songs I enjoy, and then I will talk about them. Sometimes it will even happen in that order. Expect anything thst strikes my fickle fancy on a given day, which could be anything from rock, punk, folk, metal, electronic, chamber pop, hip-hop or garage. Theme shows, articles, and a DJ night News abounds! Next week's show will be a balls-out rock special - one hour of my favorite recent punk, hard rock and metal records. Meanwhile, I'm hard at work over at the Magazine site -I've written ten CD reviews, some of which are already up, as well as a few upcoming concert reviews. Finally, I'll be DJing at Le Social on February 26th as the first in a new set of CJLO DJ nights. |

The list, and the new year I managed to pull off the Top 100 show more or less without a hitch, despite a 7 hour and 45 minute runtime (!). Special thanks goes out to my special guest co-host Dave for sticking around for the first few hours - and to Brian for letting me do this crazy business. I might even do it again next year! The list is viewable in the December 19th playlist - it appears in descending order from 100 to 1. On January 8th, 2008, A Listening Ear will return with a preview of the new year's already-exciting line-up of new releases. |

Top 100 - December 18th On DECEMBER 18TH - a very special edition of A Listening Ear: my first - and hopefully annual - Top 100 countdown show! I'll be naming my favourite tracks of the year from midnight to 7am and will try to keep the commentary lively as I fight fatigue and dizziness. Luckily, I'll have the best of the year in indie rock, folk, metal, garage, electronic, hip-hop and pop to keep me (and hopefully you) awake. (Apologies for getting the date wrong before - it is in fact the 18th, not the 17th!) |
