Girls are Gross

So, you might've noticed that I've got some company in the CJLO studio.

That's right, after much thought, and a little coercing I've decided to waive my strict "No girls allowed" policy. That being said, let me introduce you to my wonderful co-host Christine.

10 Things you should know about her:

-She has impeccable taste in music
-Enjoys chocolate milk
-Avid participant in all things D&D
-She is a 38 year old journalist posing as a university student / Drew Barrymore / clothing vendor
-Member of a secret academic cult
-Writes for CJLO News
-Dreams of one day participating in the Sunday afternoon LARPING festivities at Tams
-Inexplicably Likes both Dragonforce... and the Magnetic Fields... yeah.
-Thrice divorced, in the world of Warcraft.
-Stalks Leonard Cohen at local delicatessens.

FACT, or FICTION ? I'll be honest, most of it's true. Still, tune in, see for yourself. She'll be alongside for the second hour of every broadcast... bringing amazing music, superior linguistic skills, and a whole lotta SASS...

Sass !?!? That's right.

And I forgot to mention, she is freakin' awesome.

The Lonesome Stranger... lives on...

Greetings all,

It's been awhile since I've updated this page, but I'm sure you're all aware of the changes that've occurred here with the show, and the station:

#1. Spanky G has flown the coop, and has found a "Real" job in the city. This happened earlier on this year, and although I've adressed it on the show, I thought it'd be proper to have it in writing here on the show's page. Chris has been a loyal co-host for the past 3 years, and he will be sorely missed...

But, the show must go on... and it has.

Now... I can actually say with a clear conscience, that CJLO will be on the AM in no time flat ! What does this mean to you ? Well... you don't have to sit in front of your computer (as much) as before...

What does this mean to me ? You have no idea.

Things have been shaky over the last month or so. A lot's been goin' on with your O'le host... I've been substitute teaching at my old highschool, there was my concussion/facial mutilation I sustained on the baseball diamond... the summer job I got at the CBC... and the time I met Neil Hope in a bus-shelter.

The last one may not be true, but the rest is.

In any case, keep listening to the show. Once we hit the AM dial, you can brag to your friends and say that you listened before it became super cool.

Mike.

The End Of An Era?

This Wednesday's episode of the Lonesome Strangers may very well be my last… at least for a little while. I just got hired at a "real job" and my work hours are going to conflict with the current time slot of the radio show. As such, I'm going to need to take a leave of absence from the Lonesome Strangers. I’m sure I’ll return to the airwaves eventually but at this point, I can’t quite say when yet.

So what will become of the Lonesome Strangers radio broadcast while I’m away? I’m glad you asked. The answer, simply put, is that there isn’t a whole lot that’s going to change. My co-host Mikey B is going to soldier on without me and continue to give all of you loyal listeners your weekly dose of rants, nonsense and music. If he replaces me with my beloved Hulk Hogan soundboard you might not even notice that I’m gone.

So anyway, like I said, I’ll be back at some point but I don’t know when. I might need to quit my job, get fired or have the Lonesome Strangers show moved to a new time slot before I can return, but gosh darn it, I’LL BE BACK!

Spanky G

Join Our Facebook Group!

Some time ago, we Lonesome Strangers set up a MySpace page for our show. Shortly thereafter, we came to the realization that MySpace sucks a camel's ass... unless you're looking up prostitots online of course. As such, we've now set up a Facebook group for the show because Facebook is so much cooler. Don't get us wrong though, Facebook isn't cool, it's just seems that way in comparison to MySpace. So if you'd like to be Facebook friends with the Lonesome Strangers, head on over to http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2424956932 and join our super awesome group.
