Charges for City Hall vandals

Sixty three Montreal city workers are facing disciplinary sanctions and some may lose their jobs after City Hall was vandalized in last week’s Bill 3 protest.

According to the Gazette, some municipal workers who stormed council chambers broke windows and assaulted a councillor.

Police officers who stood by during the protest are facing disciplinary charges as well, and thirty firefighters have been suspended without pay.

Mayor Denis Coderre, who promised consequences last week, expressed outrage over the protest but says he won’t generalize over a few individuals who went too far.
