Are you a high school student, or know a high school student interested in music, the media, DJing, or the news? Or maybe you just want to be on air, playing some songs and chatting it up? Either way, CJLO's high school program is just what you need!
This free program will teach you all the basics you need to be on radio and by the end of the program, you will be presenting your own show live on the air across Montreal. You'll learn all the technical stuff: how to operate CJLO's equipment, production skills, and audio editing, as well as all the tips and tricks you need to produce and present one badass radio show. You'll also have access to CJLO's huge music vault and a range of mentors and staff who will guide you throughout the program. There's even free snacks.
The program will run every Tuesday after school for 10 weeks from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, starting April 15 and ending in the last week of the school year. You must be a high school student and must be able to come to Concordia University's Loyola Campus, at 7141 Sherbrooke (in NDG). It will be run in English, but Francophone students are most welcome. The course is completely free - the only costs will be your own transportation to and from the radio station.
You can sign up as an individual, a pair or a group - the most important thing is that you sign up soon, as places are limited. Email youth@cjlo.com to register or if you have any questions about the program.
