Public Service Alliance of Canada sues federal government

The largest union in Canada is taking the federal government to court.

The Public Service Alliance of Canada represents 140,000 employees in the federal public sector.

Last fall, the Conservatives introduced Bill C-4 which allows the government to keep employees providing essential services from going on strike.

The union is arguing that the bill violates sections of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and should not be enforced.
