Teens show great resolve through pandemic

Young people generally feel very protective of those around them when it comes to COVID-19, according to a new survey polling over 3000 teens in Quebec.

The Canadian Press reports the survey found a high level of concern for the well being of others.

The poll also found that most teens do not turn to social media for information related to COVID-19, favouring public health and news sources instead.

Premier Ford warns of flood of Quebecers into Ontario

Ontario Premier Doug Ford has ordered a province-wide lockdown over the holidays.

According to him, one of the main risks is Quebecers entering Ontario.

He made the comment while justifying why the entire province was locking down, even areas where case-counts remain low near the Quebec border.

He said there’s no hard feelings against Quebec, which will also be under lockdown in several areas over the holidays.

Instead, the measures are to keep people from leaving their homes and crossing the border into areas with fewer restrictions.

With news of a new, more volatile variant of the coronavirus in the UK, BioNTech says people should remain confident in its vaccine.

CEO Ugur Sahin said the company does not yet have enough information to say for sure, but that it’s highly likely the immune response will still apply to the new strain of the virus.
