Tonight @ 8pm: Spotlight on Cote Des Neiges Black Community Association's Education Programs

Coming up tonight at 8pm on Anatomy of Caribbean Music, Cote Des Neiges Black Community Association's Education Program Coordinator Kidel Reid and his colleagues Douglas Barkley and Tiffany Calender will come to chat with Gee Weekes about their new education programs for the community this fall! There are a variety of programs available for those that want to brush up on a second language, start one from the beginning, or pursue their high school diploma!

Both French and English conversation classes will be taught in both languages, at the Cote-des-Neiges Black Community Association, located at 6585 Cote-des-Neiges, on Saturdays. There is no documentation needed to participate in the Bilingual Academic Program. Classes are given on Saturdays and the cost of the program is $40!

For those that wish to pursure their high school diploma, there is a Montreal English Language School Board accredited program available to the community called Community Academic Achievement Program (CAAP). Registrations and placement tests are scheduled to take place on September 19, 2016 from 12pm until 8pm and September 22, 2016 between 10am - 6pm at the High School of Montreal (3711 de Bullion). Please note that the duration of the placement test to determine your grade level, will be approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes maximum, less if you are capable of finishing earlier. Exemptions will be made for those who have not been out of school for more than five years and have a copy of their most recent academic transcript as proof of the last year of schooling completed. This program involves a $50 registration fee and participants must have proof of Canadian citizenship/ permanent residency and a Quebec ID (Driver's license, Medicare card or MELS transcript of marks with QPC (Quebec permanent code).
