The City of Montreal unveiled its new 3 year infrastructure plan to improve the city’s roads and water networks.

According to CBC News, the plan will invest $6.37 billion in total and should have very little impact of municipal taxes.

This announcement comes after a recent study reported that more than 45 percent of Montreal’s roads do not meet acceptable service standards.

Former Reptile Ocean pet store owner Jean-Claude Savoie is currently facing trial for criminal negligence after two boys were killed by his African rock python in New Brunswick.

According to CTV News, 4 year old Noah Barthe and his 6 year old brother Connor were having a sleepover with Savoie’s son when they were fatally attacked by the 100 pound python.

The trial is still underway and the jury has been carefully chosen in order to give Savoie a “clean slate” at the start of the hearings.

The death of fish-seller Mouhcine Fikri has launched several days of large-scale protests in Morocco.

According to BBC News, Fikri died on Friday after being crushed to death by a garbage truck while trying to retrieve fish that the police had confiscated from him.

11 people, including 5 local officials, have been arrested for involuntary manslaughter and corruption following this horrific tragedy.
