Wintersleep - 2/25/05

Paul, Tim and Loel of Wintersleep visited chateau CJLO February 25, 2005 (Jud was missing somewhere in downtown Montreal). Wanting to do something a little different, the guys decided to do a stripped down session for Hooked on Sonics, and recorded the songs with Paul on acoustic guitar, Loel on drums, and Tim on ye ole keyboard.

Little did the guys realize that by passing us their second, and latest, CD, that Wintersleep would spend a long time on the CJLO top 30. Not only that, the actual broadcast of the session ended up being the most listened-to CJLO program at that date. We ended up maxing out the streams and were receiving phone calls and emails from people telling us they could not log onto our broadcast. 

We also got a sneak peak at the song "Weighty Ghost" in its initial stages before it became a minor hit for the band, appearing on the album Welcome to the Night Sky, that came out two years following this recording.

*Wintersleep would return to the CJLO studios later in 2005.
