Tonight at 6pm on Champions of the Local Scene- we preview Rap Battle 4 Gender Freedom, happening this Saturday at Reggie's (1455 de Maisonneuve W.). Lucas Charlie Rose, a QTPOC multidisciplinary Hip Hop artist who is very active in the trans and anti-racist activist scenes, will come by to tell us more about the event (which is the 5th in a series of Rap Battles for Social Justice.)

Coming up tonight (Tuesday) at 9pm on The Trend, we have talented home-grown actor Spiro Malandrakis!

Following a major supporting role in the U.S. on Discovery's new series Real Detective, Spiro continues his steady rise to stardom with a recurring role on Bravo's award-winning series 19-2. Over the course of 6 episodes in this year's upcoming 3rd season, Spiro joins the talented cast of 19-2 (Jared Keeso, Adrian Holmes) in a game-changing role—both for his career as much as for the show—that's set to shake up the plot in a major way!


Tonight on Champions of the Local Scene @ 6pm: Sugarface Nene chats with Marc-Antoine Bilodeau

Champions of the Local Scene spotlights artist Marc-Antoine Bilodeau, a 29-year-old resident from the south-shore of Montreal. Multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer who, at the age of 12, started playing drums and piano after hearing Phil Collins and Tony Banks' album A Trick of the Tail. Marc-Antoine has a music-concentrated academic background and has won many top-position competitions including winning best singer at "Emergenza" worldwide amateur contest in 2015.

Under the guidance of our CJLO team, you and your band will have the opportunity to record and produce an EP in CJLO’s studio with included 100 pressed copies/ host a radio special, and organize / promote a show. The residency will also offer various workshops related to the fundamentals of “behind-the-scenes” within the music industry, such as PR, Management and Touring, to name a few.

The Atom! Saturday on Brave New Jams

Brave New Jams has the pleasure to announce that Montreal band The Atom will be making a special live appearance in the CJLO studio, The Oven, Saturday March 12th. The Atom features fuzz laden guitars and echo drenched vocal harmonies tightly arranged within short and melodic, hook filled songs. The band consists of Allan Glashan (guitar and vocals), Paul Burke (bass and vocals), and Paul Frey (guitar and vocals). Brave New jams is on Saturday nights 10pm till midnight.


Tonight @ 6pm on Champions of the Local Scene: Revolution They Wrote Festival

Coming up at 6pm on a special episode of Champions of the Local Scene, we are talking to Revolution They Wrote- Concordia's Short Works Feminist Theatre Festival. RTW’s second annual edition is a 4-day festival taking place March 17-20, which aims to encourage dialogue about representations of gender, race, and sexuality in the theatre; by presenting four short feminist theatrical works in a festival package. The 2016 iteration of the festival will also add a visual arts element.  


Today on Slax Trax: A special session with Nightwitches

Today, as part of the larger programming of Metal March, Montreal doom duo Nightwitches will be coming into Slax Trax to perform live.  Host Zak Slax will be talking with them and they'll be laying down some tunes for everyone to slowly bang their heads to.  So tune in today from 5 - 6PM for loudness, and stayed tune for more themed shows during Metal March.

It's that time of year again! Award Season is in full swing, and At The Movies (with Iconic Sounds) is having the annual Golden Ticket Awards for the third consecutive year - recognizing the best films of 2015.

The Golden Tickets highlight a collection of films that span various genres (Drama, Comedy, Animation, Horror, and Documentaries) that were well received from the At The Movies community. You have up until Sunday, March 6th to cast your vote, and the winners will be announced on the Tuesday morning of March 8th, live at 8 o'clock EST.
