Concert Reviews

Nelly + St. Lunatics + Cali Swag District + Page @ Metropolis

When I heard Nelly would be coming to Montreal I was pretty excited. In 2000 Country Grammar was released as Nelly's first solo project and the single of the same name became a number one hit. I loved the song; I knew it by heart, but, to be honest, I had no real clue what it was about. With references to a “street sweeper” and something about puff and pass, I was somewhat lost.

Cold War Kids + The Balconies @ Le Theatre Corona

Montreal is known for a lot of things: poutine, riots, gorgeous people, riots, a vibrant nightlife, riots, riots, riots. What it is not known for, however, is quiet, limp, lethargic concert crowds. Sit down, Cold War Kids fans, because you will most likely not enjoy this review.

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark @ Le National

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark are back on North American soil for the first time, with their original line-up, since 1988. I had the chance to catch the tour's second show, at Le National on Sunday March 6th 2011. I need to state something: this was kind of a special show for me to see because I actually saw them on their last tour here; yes, I am talking about the 1988 tour.
