What is the best thing about working at CJLO?
This is a loaded question... but I must say it is the underground music that I have really got to know and of course the CJLO crew!

Abby "Too Many Nicknames to list" Schachter

Straight to the point, when Abby started at CJLO some of us thought she was a little.... eccentric, but we all loved her. She helped on the news team, cohosted and then began her own weekly show and was an all around great volunteer. It was almost kismet when Abby applied for the Volunteer Coordinator. She helped organize and guide other members of CJLO in finding task to help the station run smoother. But enough from us, let's see what eccentric answers Abby had for the DJ Of The Week Questionnaire.

What is your DJ alias? & what are its origins?

Stephanie Saretsky

This week we're going to be doing things a little differently. The DJ of the Week spot is going to CJLO's new Station Manager; Stephanie Saretsky. Stephanie would like to introduce herself and thought it would be nice to do it by filling out the CJLO DJ questionnaire. So take a minute and get to know the new person in charge and this week's "DJ" of the Week - Stephanie Saretsky.

What is your DJ alias? & what are its origins?

El Capitane, because I’m the boss.

What is your station's name?

CJLO !!

What genre?

Manning the board – full steam ahead!

How long have you been at CJLO?

3 WHOLE WEEKS

Erica "Ricky Fish" Fisher

We could try and write something funny about this week's DJ of the week, maybe  even tell you all the embarrasing behind the scene stories and inside jokes (gauntlets and goblets anyone). Instead we thought it best to just let you get to know them through their questionnaire.

Without futher ado, this week's DJ of the Week; host of Charts & Crafts: Erica "Ricky Fish" Fisher

Mason Axel Windels

When Mason Axel Windels came to CJLO with a all vinyl based show, we were ready to hire him on the spot, he was full of energy, had a great concept and was ready to go from day one. Sadly the bureaucratic stuff meant he had to wait but even before Mason was on air he was DJing CJLO events on both the Downtown and Loyola campuses. Just giving the crowd a taste of what he would do on his show soon enough. In just 7 months, Mason has made a name for himself and winning The Welcome to the Jungle Award for Best New Show didn't hurt. Mason was sent the DJ of the week questionnaire, here are his answers -

Denis A

Denis has been a valued member of CJLO for sometime now and explaining how much we appreciate him would take more than just a DJ of the Week post. Denis is a DJ who not only host his show but can be counted on to help out in any and all situations. His humble beginnings began as a 3rd co-host on The Siamese Libertines and since then he has set the bar with his own show Dirty Work. Fresh off his Robert Vairo Award for Broadcasting Excellence win; Denis was sent a questionnaire for his DJ of the week post. Here are the results

What is your DJ alias? & what are its origins?
"Denis A" is really what happened when I wrote my name once and got lazy about halfway through.

Lachlan Fletcher

When Lachlan Fletcher came to CJLO he had a vision for his – then desert rock themed – show The Subplot; have a theme and make it fun. He did just that and went on to become a dedicated volunteer at the station. When he wasn’t hosting his show, he would be recording a band and when he wasn’t doing that, he could be heard reading the news. In 2009, Lachlan was nominated for CJLO Diego Award for Best Radio Voice and won the award for Best New Show.

Brennan Richer

When Brennan Richer came to CJLO, the station was a very different place. Some DJs hosted for themselves, using the air time as an outlet to express themselves. Others hosted for their community, as a means to promote the culture of their musical taste. Lastly some hosted with all that and more in mind. Not only to promote their show, their genre but for everyone. Brennan Richer has always been one of those DJs and has paved the way for a generation of DJs who approach their shows in that manner. As the host of The Almighty Riff, he has been a staple of the Sunday line and has been a key to building its popularity.

Sarah El Fangary

When So Real Radio was pitched to CJLO originally it was meant to feature Brandon Calder and then co host Draga Sfetsios. At the last moment the boys decided to add another piece to an already great concept and so began the journey of Sarah El Fangary at CJLO.

Michael "Mike B" Bresciani

The year is 2004, the location, Empire Polo Fields in Indio, California. A young Michael Bresciani is leaving the Coachella Festival after having seen the Flaming Lips, Radiohead, the Cure and the recently reunited Pixies. If that musical experience wasn’t enough, Michael was also working at the HMV Megastore in the heart of Montreal and exploring new music.

Joel "Stringbean" Suss

Smart, charismatic and dedicated are just a few of the words thrown around when Joel Suss’s name comes up in conversation. A relatively new addition to CJLO, Joel has been a member for just over a year. In the short time that Joel has been on board, his show, The Sports Injection (which he hosts alongside Taimur Tanoli and Ben Wenger) has become a fan favorite. With calls from local fans to those far away, the energy on the show is always positive and the people who call in, although they don’t always agree with the boys, still love and respect them.

Anthony "Stabilo" Stabile

Anthony "Stabilo" Stabile has been a cohost on The Main Event since January 2010. Within that year he has worked hard to make a name for himself in a somewhat small Montreal wrestling market. He joined the wrestling focused talk show because of his love for the sport and admiration for the hard work put in by long time hosts Ryan Rider and Steve Rockamaniac.

Raphael "DJ 610" McKenzie

Raphael McKenzie has been a member of CJLO for 5 years. This kind, loving, and helpful DJ set roots in Montreal 37 years ago and from day one has been working hard connecting Montreal and the Caribbean.

Yaël Ossowski

This week’s DJ of the week is bittersweet. Yaël Ossowski will be leaving CJLO to explore what the world has to offer and make his mark. We would like to thank him first and foremost for being a great addition to the station, working hard on a weekly basis to produce an amazing show and for being an all around great guy.
